Guidelines for Poster Presentations
Poster Presentation Instructions:
The Poster session is an important session at every CIBCB meeting. It is always a great opportunity for authors to present their work while meeting with interested attendees for in-depth technical discussions.
Poster presenters should prepare a poster with maximum dimesions of 36" x 48". Please review the following suggestions for preparing you poster:
- An ideal poster should should cover the KEY POINTS of the research work, and is able to (1) attract attention; (2) provide a brief overview of your work; and (3) initiate discussion and question during a short time frame.
- The title of your poster should appear at the top in CAPITAL letters about 1 inch or 25mm high. Below the title, put the author(s)' name(s) and affiliation(s).
- The smallest text on your poster should be at least 3/8 inches or 9mm high, and the important points should be in a larger font size.
- Make your poster presentation easy to read with some visual display. Remember the audience may have a short time frame to pay attention to your presentation. Use color for highlighting and to make your poster more attractive. Use pictures, diagrams, cartoons, figures, etc., rather than only text wherever possible.
- Make your poster as self-explanatory as possible. This will save your time to use for discussions and questions.
Additional Presentation Information:
Prepare a short presentation (five minutes) that you can periodically give to those assembled around your poster. Please bring extra copies of your abstract to hand out if requested during the poster session. Plan to spend the entire period of your assigned presentation time at your poster location. Please do not write or paint on the poster boards.
If there is more than one author attending the conference, all should attend the poster presentation to aid in the presentation and discussion and to provide the main presenter with a chance to rest and to answer questions.
There will be no audio-visual equipment available for poster presentations.
